| OFFICE/ADMINISTRATION |
|
FRONT DESK CLERK (Bilingual preferred--English/French):
|
|
Duties include day and evening front desk shifts, cash handling and deposits,
guest registration, computer work, data input, basic accounting and general office
procedures; and other duties as assigned. Must be mature, unafraid of working alone,
and able to handle emergencies. A neat appearance and uniform are required. Standard
First Aid Certificate is strongly recommended. Wage: $8.00/hour.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK:
|
|
Responsible for the accounts payable for two hotels. Must have experience using
Simply Accounting and Windows ME. Must be able to work accurately and with little
supervision. Other office duties as assigned. Wage rate: Depends on qualifications.

|
GROUP CO-ORDINATOR POSITION (Bilingual preferred--English/French; Full-time only):
|
|
Responsible for overnight group reservations and coach group lunches;
co-ordinating group meals with kitchen and diningroom; helping with front desk; group
invoicing; greeting motorcoaches upon arrival, and other duties as assigned. Must be
friendly, mature, self-motivated, and able to handle problem situations. Knowledge of
Windows 95/98/ME, MS-Works (databases, spreadsheets, word processing) and front desk
experience would be an asset. Uniform required. Wage rate: $8.50 an hour.

| KITCHEN |

COOK:
|
|
Full service menu (breakfast/lunch/dinner and buffets), mostly group meals, some
inventory control and ordering, some staff scheduling may be required, must supply own
uniform, some experience preferred but will train, Standard First Aid recommended.
Wage: Depends on qualifications.

|
DISHWASHER:
|
|
Duties include washing dishes, cleaning and helping with food preparation; other
duties as assigned. Shift work. Wage: $7.15/hour.

| DININGROOM |
|
DINING ROOM SUPERVISOR (Bilingual preferred--English/French):
|
|
Duties to include supervising and scheduling of dining room staff, food and
alcohol service during meals, use of cash register and making deposits. Training of
diningroom staff, liquor and supplies inventory and ordering, co-ordinating catering
arrangements and set-ups with sales and kitchen staff. Experience in the food service industry
and supervisory skills a must. A professional appearance and uniform are
required. Standard First Aid and Smartserve Certificates are necessary.
Wage: $8.00-$9.00/hour depending on qualifications.

DINING ROOM SERVERS (Bilingual preferred--English/French):
|
|
Duties include serving of food and beverage, set-up and cleaning of diningroom,
bars and appropriate kitchen areas. Responsible for all guest.cheques assigned and
maintaining a cash float; and other duties as assigned. Diningroom service is mainly
banquet style for groups. Must be of legal age to serve liquor. Experience not necessary as
training will be provided. CPR or Standard First Aid Certificate is recommended;
Smartserve Certificate is necessary (course may be taken on site). Uniform required.
Wage: $8.00/hour + gratuities.

BARTENDER/SERVER (Bilingual preferred--English/French):
|
|
Duties include opening and closing bar, serving food and beverages, set-up and
cleaning bars, maintaining a cash float and operating a cash register; and other tasks as
assigned. Must be of legal age to serve liquor. CPR or Standard First Aid Certificate is
recommended; Smartserve Certificate is necessary (course is offered on site). Uniform
required. Wage: $8.00/hour + gratuities.

| HOUSEKEEPING |

HOUSEKEEPING:
|
|
Room cleaning, some laundry, and supply inventory. Other cleaning duties as assigned,
may include cleaning public areas of the hotel. Experience an asset. Standard First Aid
or CPR recommended. Uniform required. Wage: $8.50/hour

|
LAUNDRY:
|
|
Duties include daily cleaning and sorting of laundry for a 50+ room hotel and
diningroom. Other cleaning duties as assigned, may include cleaning public areas of
the hotel. Standard First Aid or CPR recommended. Wage: $8.00/hour.

| MISCELLANEOUS POSITIONS |
|
ACTIVITIES CO-ORDINATOR/SERVER (May to Sept-Full time at Hill Island Lodge only):
|
|
We require an energetic, motivated and punctual individual who enjoys working with seniors
for this position. This person should have excellent organizational and leadership skills as
well as being able to work with little supervision. Duties include escorting senior groups on
local side trips as required; co-ordinating activities such as shuffleboard and euchre tournaments,
bocce ball, crafts, senior exercise by the pool and other fun activities; and other duties as
assigned. This individual normally works as a diningroom server with the groups during meal times.
Wage rate is $8.00/hour. Standard First Aid and CPR is strongly recommended.

LIVE-IN COUPLE REQUIRED (Bilingual preferred--English/French; full-time only):
|
|
Grounds keeping, maintenance, night security, late-night guest registration and
other positions as per qualifications (eg dishwashing, room cleaning, laundry, cook).
Accommodation, meals and laundry facilities provided. Standard First Aid or CPR
recommended. Uniform required. Wage: $8.00-10.00/hour depending on qualifications.

GARDENER/GROUNDSKEEPER:
|
|
Person required to do gardening and groundskeeping for May through October..
Experience preferred. Must have transportation. Wage rate is $8.00/hour.

- Limited availability at Hill Island Lodge (dormitory style). Dormitory accommodation is free.
- Live-in Staff must provide own meals (shared kitchen)
- We will be happy to help with your travelling expenses to get here! We will reimburse
employees who fulfill their employment contract with us for the cost of travelling to
get to the 1000 Islands to begin work. Certain conditions apply. Contact our office for details.
